BRECKENRIDGE, Colo.—A man has died just below the 14,265-foot summit of Quandary Peak in central Colorado.
Emergency responders got a call at 11:19 a.m. Friday from hikers on the mountain near Breckenridge saying they had started CPR on a man.
Joe Ben Slivka of the Summit County Rescue Group says rescue and medical personnel went to the site. He says the man, in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Slivka says the man was about 700 feet from the summit. His name hasn’t been released.
Crews were working on bringing the body down the mountain.
