The winner: Jay “Kro Magnon” Krabacher, unincorporated Mesa County: The picture is almost EXACTLY what the cross-country/track team looked like in the 1994 Central High School homecoming parade. They wallowed in a big pit of mud in one team member’s yard. Then they all marched in the CHS homecoming parade in downtown Grand Junction, pulling a Jeep (also covered in mud) while the “Chain Gang” (the original version, not the Pretenders) played from a boombox. It was the hit of the parade, and the funniest thing we had seen in a long time.
