Getting your player ready...

Given his chance for more playing time, catcher Yorvit Torrealba is making the most of it. After starting Saturday night, he was back behind the plate Sunday afternoon. He went 1-for-3 with a walk, extending his hitting streak to a career-high 10 games. During the streak, he is hitting .395 (15-for-38) with a double and four RBIs.

Heating up.

A bit of good news in the Rockies’ loss was the hitting of Troy Tulowitzki and Ian Stewart. Tulo- witzki went 4-for-5 with a homer, finishing a triple short of the cycle. He’s batting .284. Stewart went 3-for-5, finishing a homer shy of the cycle. Stewart went 6-for-12 during the series, hiking his batting average to .231.

West woes.

The Rockies’ struggles against National League West teams continue. They are 7-8 vs. the Giants and 24-30 against the NL West. The division-leading Dodgers, meanwhile, are 35-16 against the NL West.
