Given his chance for more playing time, catcher Yorvit Torrealba is making the most of it. After starting Saturday night, he was back behind the plate Sunday afternoon. He went 1-for-3 with a walk, extending his hitting streak to a career-high 10 games. During the streak, he is hitting .395 (15-for-38) with a double and four RBIs.
Heating up.
A bit of good news in the Rockies’ loss was the hitting of Troy Tulowitzki and Ian Stewart. Tulo- witzki went 4-for-5 with a homer, finishing a triple short of the cycle. He’s batting .284. Stewart went 3-for-5, finishing a homer shy of the cycle. Stewart went 6-for-12 during the series, hiking his batting average to .231.
West woes.
The Rockies’ struggles against National League West teams continue. They are 7-8 vs. the Giants and 24-30 against the NL West. The division-leading Dodgers, meanwhile, are 35-16 against the NL West.
