East Central. When the two state finalists come from the same league, it doesn’t bode well for the others in that conference. That said, Idalia and Hi-Plains again are the class of the league, and, barring a major upset will be in the playoffs. If Bethune were in any other league, it would make the playoffs.
North. Peetz has 10 seniors, and that is a good enough reason to pick the Bulldogs. Pawnee and Briggsdale are low on numbers and experience, opening the door for Weldon Valley (0-8 last year) to make a playoff push.
South. With the unfortunate loss of Kit Carson, a host of challengers will jump to the front of the line for bragging rights. South Baca County and Eads appear to be the picks, but don’t count out Edison.
West Central. Otis and Fleming are the best two teams in what is now a four-team league after Arickaree folded in August. If Woodlin can develop quickly, it might have a shot at Fleming.
