Boulder police are looking 56-year-old David McCoy on an accusation he sexually harassed a New Jersey man he lured to Boulder on the promise of a TV job.
After the 26-year-old man flew to Colorado Saturday to work as a camera operator, McCoy told him that he first had to “participate in a number of trust-building exercises,” which allegedly included inappropriate touching during physical examinations in the nude and McCoy watching him shower.
McCoy had been convicted of sex offenses in Ohio in 1978, but laws at the time did not require him to register as a sexual offender, police said.
The New Jersey man reported McCoy to police Sunday, and McCoy hasn’t been located since, police said today.
He is described as about 6 feet, 3 inches tall and 160 pounds. McCoy drives a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Ohio plates EVW8004. He also sometimes uses the name Greg McCoy.
Anyone with information can call Boulder police at 303-441-3345 or Northern Colorado Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or 1-800-444-3776. There is a $1,000 reward for his arrest.
