A man’s body was found in an East Colfax Avenue motel this morning, Aurora police said.

He apparently died of trauma to his upper torso, and the case is being investigated as a homicide, police said in a statement.

The man’s name has not been released pending positive identification through an autopsy and notification of his next of kin.

Police were summoned to the Carriage Motel Inn at 9201 E. Colfax Ave. at about 10:45 a.m., police said in a news release.

Min Kim, the manager at the motel, said two white men checked into the motel room the night before. The man who was found this morning by a cleaning-staff member was black.

None of them had ever stayed at the hotel before. She would not provide the name the room was rented under.

Patrol officers canvassed the area for information, the police statement said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Mark Yacano at 303-739-6090.
