One of two Colorado kids on the Texas roster, sophomore Nolan Brewster finally got his name in the stat book, albeit against Louisiana-Monroe, last week. The backup safety from Mullen High School had his first career interception. With Monroe driving and facing third-and-goal, Brewster stopped the drive with his pick at the Texas 3-yard line. Lamarr Houston , the other Colorado Longhorn (Doherty High), is in his third season as a starting defensive tackle.

Alvin Logan, Washington: After playing last season as a receiver, the sophomore from Regis High was moved to safety this season. He didn’t play last week vs. LSU.
