CENTENNIAL, Colo.—Defense attorneys will have more time to evaluate evidence found in a recently discovered car in the trial of a man facing charges in the disappearance and presumed death of his daughter.
A judge ruled Friday that lawyers for Aaron Thompson should be able to evaluate the car that a witness testified was used to transport the body of his daughter, Aarone (AIR’-uh-nay).
The ruling won’t delay the trial for long. Testimony is expected to resume Monday and closing arguments are scheduled for Tuesday.
The trial has been under way for five weeks and closing arguments had been expected Friday when prosecutors revealed they had found the car.
Thompson is charged with fatal child abuse and other crimes against his daughter, who was reported missing in 2005.
