Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper announced today that he has tapped his former manager for the Department of Human Services to serve as his new chief of staff.
Roxane White begins her new job Sept. 24.
She succeeds Kelly Brough, who was named last month as the new president and CEO of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce.
“Roxane is a rare leader who has both the vision and the skills to get things done,” Hickenlooper said, in a statement. “Her passion to help people at all levels will help us keep building this great City.”
White is now the executive director of the Timothy and Bernadette Marquez Foundation, where she is responsible for developing strategic giving in the areas of health care, education and human services.
She will become Hickenlooper’s fourth chief of staff since becoming mayor in July 2003. In addition to Brough, attorney Cole Finegan and Sen. Michael Bennet served in the job.
“I am delighted to return to work with Mayor Hickenlooper and the city team,” White said in a statement.
She served the Human Services chief from September 2003 to April 2008.
White was born and raised in Montana. She and her partner, Denis Murstein, have three children.
