If you love live music outdoors but can’t afford the indie dance-rock party of this weekend, check out the 7th annual . The free event takes over Chaffee Park on Saturday with a community carnival of live music, kid’s activities, local food, neighborhood boutique vendors and Colorado crafted beer and wine.

Three stages will host an eclectic mix of family-friendly music. The festival’s main stage offers the soulful crooning of , the maniacal bluegrass-rock-a-billy rhythms of , the down tempo grooves of , Afropop and talking drum riffs of & and the dub-reggae sweep of Fort Collins’ to close the festival.

The festival’s beer garden anchors a smaller stage for local acts like the folksy, jug band and . Back again are last year’s wildly popular Pan African Drummers, who pretty much stole last year’s festival with their can’t-help-but-dance beats. A kid’s stage will have local musicians and dancing that last year attracted even the grown up kids.

The free music fest is a community fundraiser benefiting The Other Side Arts, The Conflict Center, Friends of Chaffee Park and several area schools. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Chaffee Park, 44th Ave. and Tejon St. Check our their for more details and a full lineup.
