Volunteers will collect pet food from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at South High School, 1700 E. Louisiana Ave. The Furry Friends Food Drive, partnering with the Food Bank of the Rockies, plans to distribute the food to financially struggling owners who otherwise face the prospect of having to give their pets up to shelters.
Dry and canned food is being accepted for dogs, cats, birds, rabbits and small animals such as guinea pigs and gerbils.
