Getting your player ready...
Catcher Bengie Molina hasn’t necessarily been on the same page as the Giants during the past month. He took longer than expected to come back from an injury, leading to promising prospect Buster Posey’s call-up. Monday, Molina hit fifth for the first time in two years as the Giants tried to strengthen their lineup. He responded with his 18th home run in the third inning.
Spark at top.
Eric Young Jr. did his part to try to ignite the offense, reaching twice and stealing his third base.
Lacking interest.
Monday’s paid crowd was just 31,307, roughly 11,000 less than capacity. Perhaps the fans were broke from spending money on Dodgers tickets last weekend.
