OAKLAND, Calif. — Police said a woman fatally shot her disabled daughter before taking her own life at an Oakland nursing home.
Oakland Police Sgt. Jim Rullamas said 64-year-old Diana Marie Harden fatally shot her daughter, 43-year-old Yvette Harden, in her room at the Oakland Springs Health Center.
Yvette Harden had been living at the facility for six years after suffering serious brain damage from a 1994 car accident that also left her partially paralyzed and in a wheelchair.
