Wenlan Chia’s girly dresses, easy sportswear and vivid use of color makes her work for the Twinkle collection stand out from the pack during Fashion Week in New York (the print dress for spring 2010, above). Those who want to emulate the look but add their own twist can now do so. In her new book “Twinkle Sews” (Potter Craft, Sept. 29, $24.99), the designer shares 25 styles. Geared to intermediate sewers, the full-size patterns are included on a CD that can be printed out at home in a range of sizes. The book also includes techniques on sewing seams, putting in zippers and interfacing.
