Colorado’s mountain casinos posted a 2 percent increase in revenue in August, the second month of higher limits, round-the-clock gambling and new table games.
The increase paled in comparison with the 16 percent boost in July, the first month for the new regulations.
In August, the state’s 40 casinos recorded $69.7 million in adjusted gross proceeds, which is total bets minus payouts. That’s up from $68.2 million in August 2008.
Of the three gambling towns, only Black Hawk posted an increase in adjusted gross proceeds with a nearly 4 percent jump. Cripple Creek and Central City posted small declines.
