Five people, including children, were hurt when their a sport-utility vehicle was hit at an intersection in Denver tonight.
Four of the five were ejected. They were rushed to Denver Health Medical Center, but their conditions were unknown. No names have been released.
“It might be up to four children, some teen-agers, some younger,” said Detective Lesley Branch-Wise, as spokeswoman for the Denver Police Department.
One of the two vehicles crashed into a utility pole after the initial collision at West Florida Avenue and South Tejon Street just after 7 p.m., She did not know if the driver who caused the accident had yet been charged.
“It appears alcohol played a part in this,” she said. “It’s still early, and the investigation isn’t complete, but the early information is that alcohol is suspected.”
