ASPEN, Colo.—Swine flu appears to have arrived in Aspen schools.
Aspen School District Superintendent Diana Sirko says at least three high school students and one middle school student in the district are suspected of having swine flu.
The district has hired extra staff to sanitize its facilities to try to combat an outbreak.
The Colorado health department’s chief medical officer, Ned Calonge (kuh-LANZH’), says the new H1N1 flu vaccine is scheduled to arrive in the state in mid-October.
Swine flu is suspected of sickening dozens of students at the University of Colorado, Colorado State University, and schools in Colorado Springs, Fort Collins and Canon City. Health officials advise people with flu symptoms to stay home.
