He’s a doctor and he plays one on TV.
Dr. John Torres spent a few years at Fox 31 as the in-house medicine man, but he wasn’t feeling or getting the love. So he recently flipped to KUSA-Channel 9, where he’s making house calls on the 4 p.m. news Wednesdays and Thursdays.
He maintains a practice in Monument, seeing patients daily.
“I went to Channel 9, and they really want to stay involved with heath and their health platform,” Torres says. “And they have the resources to do it.”
I worked with Torres at Fox 31 — and mooched medical advice from him. He’s a good doc, a good guy — and a score for KUSA-Ch. 9.
“Everyone wants medical news,” says KUSA-Ch. 9 news director Patti Dennis. “To have it presented by a professional makes it all the more reliable and credible. John is just really good, personable and warm.”
