LINCOLN, Neb.—The Nebraska football team has a number of events planned this week to mark the 300th consecutive sellout at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln.
The streak, which began in November 1962 in Bob Devaney’s first year as coach, will continue Saturday when Nebraska hosts Louisiana-Lafayette, and Devaney’s family and the 1962 team will honored.
To mark the occasion, the state capitol will be bathed in red light, the team will be wearing throwback jerseys, and the marching band will play songs from the 1960s. And a special commemorative logo will be painted on the field.
During Nebraska’s sellout streak, the Huskers have gone 260-39 at home. The next longest sellout streak is Notre Dame’s 207-game streak.
