TELLURIDE, Colo.—Authorities are offering a $5,500 reward for information leading to an arrest in an August arson fire that destroyed a restored mining cabin near Telluride in southwest Colorado.
No one was hurt in the Aug. 24 fire in the town of Alta, and the flames didn’t spread to the surrounding forest.
Silver Mountain Industries, which owns the property, had restored the cabin. The company hopes to build 28 large homes with caretakers’ units on about 540 acres in the area.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is offering a $5,000 reward and the San Miguel County Sheriff’s Department is offering another $500.
