University of Denver golfer Stephanie Sherlock carded a second-round low 69 on Tuesday to jump atop the leaderboard of the Ron Moore Women’s Intercollegiate at Highlands Ranch Golf Club. Sherlock, at 1-under-par 143, is tied with Baylor’s Hannah Burke.
Denver’s Kimberly Kim trails at 1-over 145, tied with first-round leader Alice Kim of Cal-Davis.
The Pioneers, ranked No. 5 nationally, pulled away from the pack in the team standings and led Baylor by 13 strokes.
CHL’S Eagles sign defenseman Jackson.
The Colorado Eagles of the Central Hockey League signed defenseman Jim Jackson on Monday, increasing their preseason roster to 26 players. Jackson played last season for the AHL’s Peoria Rivermen and the ECHL’s Gwinnett Gladiators.

Legendary hockey team member Johnson to be featured guest.
U.S. Olympic women’s hockey coach Mark Johnson, who scored two goals in the the Americans’ Olympic semifinal upset of the Soviet Union in 1980 known as the “Miracle on Ice,” will be the featured guest at a Hockey Face-Off luncheon Oct. 1 in Colorado Springs.
He will be joined by Colorado College coach Scott Owens and Air Force coach Frank Serratore, who will talk about their team’s upcoming seasons.
