LINCOLN, Neb.—University of Nebraska-Lincoln athletic officials are planning no extra security measures in response to federal officials’ bulletins about terrorist interest in attacking sports stadiums.
The Cornhuskers will be celebrating their 300th consecutive sellout Saturday night when they play Louisiana-Lafayette at Memorial Stadium.
Butch Hug is associate athletic director for facilities and events. He said Tuesday that the university has been vigilant every home game and that there will be no additional security staff in place.
Fans’ bags will be screened by staffers at the gates. Other fans can go through an “express lane” to enter the stadium.
Hug said there are no pat-downs, though stadium security workers look for suspicious activity or behavior.
