The Uncommon Thread denim boutique has quietly been doing business for several months in Denver’s Highland neighborhood, but now it’s ready for a grand opening party. From 5 to 8 p.m. today the boutique will serve wine and cheese and have models showing such lines as Hello! Skinny Jeans, Alternative Apparel, Red Engine and 7 for All Man Kind for women and Joe’s Jeans and Rock Revival for men and women. Also look for items from local T-shirt companies Lard and SoundCheck. Owner Elizabeth Lacy, 27, who has worked for both large and small fashion retailers, said she scouted several Denver neighborhoods before settling on Highland. “It’s the right demographic,” says Lacy, whose customers are typcially guys in their 20s and 30s and “young moms who want to look good day to day on the weekends.” 3455 W. 32nd Ave.; 303-635-6790;
