Kristen Diane Parker, the 26-year- old former surgery technician charged with stealing painkillers and exposing patients at two hospitals to hepatitis C, is reportedly seeking a plea deal.
CBS4 in Denver reported Thursday night that Parker has asked that a hearing be scheduled so she can enter a guilty plea and avoid her upcoming trial. The terms of the alleged plea deal were not reported.
Parker was arrested this summer and faces 19 counts each of tampering and illegally obtaining a controlled substance.
She admitted to investigators she injected powerful painkillers meant for surgery patients and exposed them to hepatitis C by returning her used syringes containing saline.
