Woodward Governor Co., a Fort Collins-based turbine maker, has spun off an auto-engine-development program into a new company.
The new company, VanDyne SuperTurbo Inc., backed by Woodward and private investors, is aiming to market an automotive energy- efficiency device.
The new turbocharger can cut fuel consumption 25 percent, according to Edward VanDyne, the device’s developer and the new company’s chief executive.
