ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.—New Mexico authorities caught up with a Colorado man suspected of robbing an Albuquerque bank as he was headed west out of town.
State police say 58-year-old Alan Tukes was arrested Wednesday and turned over to federal agents, along with his van and the cash that was allegedly taken from a Compass Bank branch on the city’s east side earlier that day.
State police officers were on the look out for the getaway vehicle after learning about the robbery. One officer spotted the vehicle as it was headed west on Interstate 40 and stopped it.
Tukes was taken into custody after backup arrived.
