DENVER—The U.S. Department of Labor says a company that runs Qdoba Mexican Grill restaurants in nine states is paying $13,865 in back wages to 187 employees.

Labor officials say ZRC Operations Co. Inc. of Wheat Ridge, Colo., miscalculated when computing overtime pay for assistant managers.

Mike Speck of Qdoba Restaurant Corp. said Friday that a miscalculation on bonus payouts was discovered after Qdoba was selected for a random audit by the Department of Labor. Speck says the miscalculation resulted in an average $3 shortfall per month over two years.

The Labor Department says ZRC runs 133 Qdoba restaurants in California, Colorado, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, Texas and Washington.
