The city of Boulder, the University of Colorado and Downtown Boulder Inc. today issued a joint statement opposing the proposed return of the Halloween “Mall Crawl.”
The unsanctioned Mall Crawl drew thousands of revelers to Boulder’s Pearl Street Mall on Halloween, until the city shut it down in 1991.
The city estimated it would cost $40,000 for law enforcement, traffic control and clean-up and other costs.
“These are resources that should be spent on other, more vital city services and resources,” according to the statement.
