Omar Vizquel’s desire to try bullfighting in Venezuela this winter has landed him on PETA’s hit list. PETA said assistant director Dan Shannon has sent the Texas Rangers’ utility infielder a letter, pleading with him to give up his bullfighting plans. PETA also took exception to Vizquel’s anaconda hunt in his native Venezuela last year. The anaconda, which was on a preserve, was released unharmed. Vizquel’s bullfighting plans only include practicing against half-grown bulls at a training facility. “I won’t have a sword, it’s not like I’m going to kill the bull,” Vizquel said. “I’m just going to have some fun with (the training).” Fort Worth Star-Telegram; AP file photo
