Authorities say a soldier suspected of being AWOL is at large after escaping from a federal escort at Denver International Airport.
Denver police say the handcuffed man was being transferred from Salt Lake City to Colorado Springs via Denver on Wednesday when he ran from his escort.
Police say the man, who turns 20 today, has no history of violence.
Fort Carson officials identified him as Pvt. Terrance Hilton of the 1st Special Troops Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division.
He is from Grand Junction and is 5-foot-10 with hazel eyes and short, light brown hair. He was wearing a dark green or black hoodie, a white T-shirt, black shorts, tennis shoes — and a waistbelt with handcuffs.
