Richard Glen Strandlof, who used the name Rick Duncan while posing as a wounded Marine captain to found a Colorado veterans group and campaign for political candidates, was arrested Friday in San Diego.
Strandlof, 32, was wanted on an outstanding federal warrant in Colorado for false claims about receipt of military decorations or medals, a violation of the Stolen Valor Act.
The FBI in San Diego arrested Strandlof without incident. He faces up to a year in prison and a $100,000 fine if convicted of the charge.
