One person died and a child and two adults were injured in a head-on crash tonight that still has a four-block stretch of southbound Sheridan Boulevard closed.
Arvada police said the accident occurred shortly before 7 p.m. in the 6200 block of Sheridan when a northbound driver crossed into the southbound lanes, hitting another vehicle head on.
The driver of the northbound vehicle was dead at the scene, Arvada police said. The driver’s name was not released.
An adult and a child in the northbound car, and the driver of the southbound vehicle, were all taken to an area hospital.
The names and the conditions of the injured have not yet been released.
Police estimated they will reopen Sheridan sometime around 10:30 pm.
