Tessa Nelson had 10 kills, with a hitting percentage of .500, and added an ace and a dig Saturday as the Colorado State volleyball team beat Air Force 3-0 (25-22, 26-24, 25-20) at Moby Arena in Fort Collins.
Katelyn Steffen added eight kills, two digs and two blocks for the Rams, who remained unbeaten in the Mountain West Conference at 6-0. CSU is 14-3 overall.
Late goal lifts UMKC over DU.
David Sarabia’s putback of a rebound in the 80th minute gave the Missouri-Kansas City men’s soccer team a 2-1 win over the University of Denver. Freshman forward Alex Tar- noczi scored his team-leading sixth goal in the first half, but UMKC got the equalizer in the 43rd minute when Tom Black took advantage of an empty net after a cross ricocheted off DU goalkeeper Joe Willis.
DU struggling in golf tournament.
The DU women’s golf team was not playing up to its No. 6 national ranking, sitting in 17th place at North Carolina’s Tar Heel Invitational after a second-round, 12-over-par 300.
DU is at 26-over 602 overall.
Freshman Kimberly Kim and senior Stephanie Sherlock lead DU with 5-over 149s, good for a tie for 41st.
