A 47-year-old woman who was found dead under suspicious circumstances in a northeast Denver home has been identified by family.
Judith Atkinson’s body was found Thursday morning in a home in the 3000 block of Humboldt Street, according to police and her mother, Mary Lou Atkinson.
Police, who are investigating the case as a homicide, were responding to a burglary call just before 7 a.m. when they found the body, but they did not see any evidence of a burglary.
Mary Lou Atkinson said her daughter was an only child. She had been divorced and hasn’t been working for several years, she said.
She did not have any children, her mother said.
Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson said police are awaiting the results of an autopsy to learn the cause of death. No arrests have been made, he said.
