MANKATO, Minn.—Rylan Galiardi had two goals and an assist to lead Minnesota State, Mankato to a 4-1 win over Bowling Green Saturday and a sweep of the two-game, season-opening series. The Mavericks won 3-2 on Friday.
MSUM (2-0-0) scored two times in the third period to pull away. Galiardi gave the Mavericks an early 1-0 lead and Kurt Davis made it 2-0 in the second. Galiardi and Andrew Sackrison gave the Mavericks a 4-0 lead in the third.
The Mavericks outshot the Falcons 41-23.
Andrew Hammond made 37 saves for Bowling Green (0-2-0), while Kevin Murdock turned away 22 shots for the Mavericks.
Josh Boyd broke up the shutout, scoring for Bowling Green at 10:48 of the third period.
