A man who died in a traffic accident in Boulder has been identified by authorities.
The victim in the fatal collision was 46-year-old Carl Frank Welter, according to a media release from the Boulder County Coroner’s Office.
At about 4:20 p.m. Welter was driving a moped, a motorized bicycle, south on Broadway near the intersection of Baseline Road when he turned into the path of a northbound green Volkswagen sedan, police said.
Welter, who was not wearing a helmet, died at the scene. The driver of the Volkswagen, a 29-year-old woman, was not injured.
