CABO SAN LUCAS, Mexico — Officials closed schools and readied emergency shelters as Tropical Storm Patricia neared Mexico’s Los Cabos resorts Tuesday.
The storm’s winds weakened to 50 mph on Tuesday afternoon, according to the U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami. Forecasters said it could dump 1 to 3 inches of rain on the region.
