Big 12 Conference men’s basketball coaches picked Colorado to finish last in the annual preseason coaches poll, released Wednesday. Coaches tabbed Kansas the unanimous pick to claim the league championship.
CU, which has only one senior (Dwight Thorne II), received 13 votes. That means at least one coach picked the Buffs to finish out of the cellar. Coaches could not vote for their own team. So although Texas received one first-place vote (from Kansas’ Bill Self), the Jayhawks are considered a unanimous pick.
In the poll’s top five, Kansas is followed in order by Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas State and Texas A&M.
