The number of those who have died of the swine flu in Colorado has climbed to 14, including six children and teenagers, the state health department said today.
About 175 people were hospitalized with the flu last week, and more than 180 people were hospitalized the week before, the most so far.
The H1N1 vaccine arrived in the state this week and is being given to health-care workers.
At Children’s Hospital in Aurora on Tuesday, dozens of doctors, nurses and other staff lined up for H1N1 and seasonal-flu immunizations. Several other hospitals also were immunizing workers. More vaccine for the general public is expected to arrive in the coming weeks.
