“Steppin’ Up and Steppin’ Out” is the theme of the 16th annual Western Fantasy gala Saturday at the National Western Events Center. So what does one wear when the attire is billed as “elegant Western”? For guys, their best boots, hat, jeans and yoked shirt topped with a tuxedo jacket works, as would a leather blazer and Western shirt. Women will don denim and diamonds; velvet and turquoise. A simple black dress accessorized with Southwestern jewelry is great, too. Find more dressing tips on the party’s website, . It’s all for a good cause: Proceeds from the events ticket sales and auction benefit Volunteers of America. Tickets start at $300 each for individuals ($150 for young professionals 21-39 years old) and include a cocktail reception, dinner, patron gift from Neiman Marcus and entertainment by Kenny Rogers. For reservations, go to the website or call Michael James, 720-264-3322.
