Colorado Army National Guard helicopters are helping look for a man missing after getting off a bus on a mountain pass.

The man was reported missing after the bus stopped for a short break about 6 p.m. Friday between Salida and Gunnison. He was last seen walking into a wooded area near Monarch Pass.

The only description available about the man is that he is a 40-year-old male with “special needs.”

Two National Guard UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters with medical crews on board and the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office were taking the lead in search-and-rescue efforts.
