Thriller international

Carol Casper, a Zumba dance teacher in Broomfield, will lead a two-hour class at 4 p.m. Saturday as part of Thrill the World, an international synchronized performance of the “Thriller” dance that begins at 6:30 p.m. locally. Organizers hope to break the Guinness World Record for a group dance set in 2002 by 197,569 Canadian schoolchildren doing “The Hokey Pokey.” The event will raise funds for A Precious Child, a Broomfield charity that donated school supplies, backpacks and clothes to more than 1,000 children this year. Participants are encouraged to come wearing costumes. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children younger than 17 and $25 for a family of four. Tickets can be purchased online at or at the door.
