GOLDEN, Colo.—Jefferson County prosecutors say a former Focus on the Family employee who pleaded guilty to attempted sexual assault of a child must register as a sex offender.
Prosecutors said Tuesday that 42-year-old Juan Alberto Ovalle of Colorado Springs was sentenced last week to five years of intensive supervision sex offender probation.
Ovalle was accused of making sexual overtures online to an undercover investigator who was posing as an underage teen, then driving to Lakewood to meet the person.
Ovalle was a Spanish translator for Focus on the Family’s Christian radio ministry but was fired after he was arrested in April.
