The 39-year-old driver of a 1997 BMW was killed early today when he slammed into the back of a casino bus westbound on West Sixth Avenue, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

The driver of the BMW was identified as Stephen V. Sanchez of Lakewood. He was pronounced dead at the scene near Indiana Street.

According to the State Patrol, Sanchez was driving at a high rate of speed before the 1:14 a.m. crash. Speed and alcohol are suspected of being contributing factors, said investigators.

The patrol said that Sanchez was not wearing a seat belt.
