The Colorado Public Utilities Commission is scheduled to hold two weeks of hearings beginning Monday on Xcel Energy Inc.’s request for a $182 million rate increase.

The PUC staff has said Xcel should receive a $46 million rate increase. The Office of Consumer Counsel has recommended a $68 million increase, and Colorado Energy Consumers, a group of large business customers, calculated Xcel’s rate hike at $98 million.

The hearings begin at 9 a.m. in the basement auditorium of Xcel’s Technology Services Building, 550 15th St.
