Getting your player ready...
LINCOLN, Neb.—Nebraska won’t have Chris Brooks to call on against Iowa State.
The wide receiver didn’t practice Thursday because of an injury, and he is not expected to play on Saturday in Lincoln.
Coach Bo Pelini had other injury news after practice: Linebacker Blake Lawrence could no longer play football for Nebraska, given his four concussions in only a year and a half.
The coach says he feels sorry for Lawrence, but “it’s the right thing for his future.”
Lawrence will remain with the team as a volunteer coach.
Pelini says his team had a good week of practice and that he’s looking forward to testing the players’ progress in the game against the Cyclones.
Game time is 11:30 a.m. Central.
