A fugitive known as “Mexican Mike” and his 19-year-companion are in the Larimer County jail after they were arrested on charges related to a double homicide in Illinois.
Michael A. Schallert, 31, and Afton Danielle Lind Ferris were wanted after the bodies of Kandis R. Majors, 28, and Terri A. Siereck, 31, discovered in their West Frankfort apartment Monday.
Schallert and Ferris were arrested in a mobile home at 517 East Trilby Road in unincorporated Larimer County Wednesday. Schallert and Ferris are originally from the Cheyenne, Wyo., area.
They are being held on a $100,000 bond on a Colorado charge of possession of a stolen firearm, as they await extradition to Illinois.
