Sunday. Horses and history. It’s a harvest-time hoedown at the Schweiger Ranch in Lone Tree. Visitors can get a sneak peek at the historic ranch’s restoration and have some fall fun at the same time. Pick out a pumpkin and test your skills at a carving competition, then take a break on a hayride or listen to a storyteller. There are also pony rides, roasted marshmallows, scarecrow-making and more. Young horse lovers can arrive early, at 1 p.m., to help get the horses ready for the hayrides. 2-5 p.m. at Schweiger Ranch, 10822 Valley Highway (exit 192 off Interstate 25) in Lone Tree. Admission is free; there’s a small fee for some activities. .
