COLORADO SPRINGS — Colorado College scored five times on the power play and twice short-handed Saturday night, beating Michigan Tech 8-5 in the highest-scoring WCHA game this season.
After Michigan Tech scored four times in the second period to take a 4-3 lead, the conference-leading Tigers (4-1-1, 3-0-1) responded with five goals in the third.
Tyler Johnson had two goals — his fourth and fifth of the season — and an assist for Colorado College. Gabe Guentzel had a goal and three assists.
Alex MacLeod’s goal at 11:30 of the second gave Michigan Tech (1-3-0, 0-2-0) a 4-2 lead. But the Tigers countered with four goals on the power play and one shorthanded.
Air Force 3, RIT 2
AIR FORCE ACADEMY — Matt Fairchild scored the game- winning goal with one second left in overtime as the Falcons completed a two- game sweep.
Air Force improved to 2-4 overall and is in first place in the AHA at 2-0. RIT, which outshot the Falcons 30-26, fell to 0-5 overall and 0-2 in the conference.
