A Centennial man was killed after losing control of his motorcycle, striking a road median and being thrown against a metal signpost, Aurora police said.
Patrick McCormick, 43, was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle when the accident occurred in the 3700 block of South Mission Parkway at 11:37 p.m. Saturday.
Aurora police and fire personnel arrived at the scene and tried to revive McCormick, but he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at a local hospital, police said.
McCormick was not wearing a helmet, according to police.
Investigators say they will try to reconstruct the accident to determine if McCormick was speeding, and toxicology tests by the Arapahoe County coroner’s office will determine if alcohol was a factor.
